| Child Protection Policy St James’ is committed to the welfare and
well-being of children within its community. We regularly review
and update our child protection policy and guidelines. All members
of the St James’ community who work with children are required
to complete a disclosure application to the Criminal Records Bureau
(CRB) to ensure that there is no reason to disbar them from being
responsible for children. Groups who use our Church Hall facilities
have to demonstrate that they have appropriate policies on child
protection. Our Children’s Advocate can be contacted via: vicar@stjamesislington.org |

Viewing the facilities before making a booking is recommended. Reasonable hourly charges are made for private hire and the hall is available for one-off bookings on Tuesday evenings from 6.00 - 10.00 p.m., Saturday afternoons from 1.30 - 7.30 p.m. and the first and third Sundays of the month from 12.30 - 5.30 p.m. The hall was built in 1995, is of attractive and welcoming design with modern heating and lighting. Blinds are provided on external windows. The hall is generally used by regular users providing many activities for children including music, ballet and toddler groups; also yoga classes for adults. The hall is part of a larger residential building and the use of loud music and amplification equipment is not permitted. The floor size of the hall is 10m x 10m with a ceiling
height of 3m. The large kitchen has a double sink unit and ample worktop space for the preparation of buffets. A hot water urn, crockery and cutlery are available but hirers should bring tea towels, cups and glasses. A large gas oven with six hobs is available but hirers should bring cooking pans if required. Whilst every effort is made to keep the building clean and attractive, only a limited amount of time and money is available for cleaning. Groups and individuals are required to clean up before leaving the premises. The hall has ladies, gents and disabled toilet facilities accessible from the entrance foyer. The ground floor premises comply with disability access requirements and fire safety standards. The hall's insurance policy covers public liability on the part of St James' Church. Users of the hall are asked to make sure that they have adequate insurance cover while using the facilities. For enquiries regarding the hire of the Church Hall,
