We invite you to join us in prayer for God’s world, Faith, Peace, Justice and our local community.

Whatever your approach to prayer, it's nice to know that other people are praying for you. If you're looking for support, or if you want to offer support to others, then our Prayer Board is here for you.

The St James' Prayer Board is for people of all faiths and none.

If your request is for someone else, please give careful consideration as to how they will feel about being prayed for.

Our Prayer Board is updated regularly, and some requests may also be included in the spoken Intercessions during our Services. Requests will be removed after one month unless the concern is ongoing.

To include your prayers or concerns, please e-mail: vicar@stjamesislington.org

Prayer For The Renewal Of The Church

Heavenly Father,
pour down your Spirit upon us and your whole Church.
Grant us a new vision of your glory,
a new experience of your power,
a new faithfulness to your Word,
a new consecration to your service;
that through our renewed witness your Holy Name may be glorified
and your Kingdom advanced
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We look forward to the Induction of our new Vicar and Parish Priest, Fr John Burniston (Saturday 21 March 2009). Fr John will celebrate his first Mass at St James' on Sunday 22 March. We pray for him, his wife Maria and daughters Catriona and Sinead as they prepare for their move from Bradford to London. The Parish and people of Islington welcome them warmly.

Please continue to pray for ALL THE PEOPLE OF ZIMBABWE as they face bewilderment & injustice as well as economic & educational collapse. Remember those who would lead - that the confusion in mediation may lead to positive & peaceful action. Pray too for the many who are hungry, especially the children dying from hunger, and the sick - for whom any hope of recovery is destroyed through lack of food.
